preparation

Preparation:
1.  Measure and cut your background piece of Smart-Fab

     to fit your bulletin board(s).
2. Measure and cut the two pieces of Smart-Fab that you chose

for the “ruffled”part of the frame. They need to be strips of

approximately10 to 12 feet ((this measurement can vary,

according to the size of you bulletin board)

by 12 inches. Using a pencil or marker, mark both strips at

     10 inch intervals.
3. Measure and cut the four of pieces of Smart-Fab that you chose

for the “twisted rope” part of the frame. They need to be approximately

10 to 12 feet (this measurement can vary according to the size of your

     bulletin board) by 4 inches.
4. Make your “Decorative Flowers”.

PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. Attach the piece of Smart-Fab that you chose for your background to the bulletin board with a staple gun.

Step 2

2. To create the “ruffled part of your frame. Take one of the 10 to 12 feet by 12 inch strip of Smart-Fab(we are using Apple Green) and choose a point in the middle of one of the sides of the bulletin board, adjacent to the frame. Staple down the edge of the strip of Smart-Fab.

Step 3

3. Using your ten inch measurement, "scrunch" a ten inch segment of the strip, using a circular motion, and staple it to the bulletin board. Scrunch the next 10 inch segment of Smart-Fab and staple it to the bulletin board.

Step 4

4. Contine this technique around the bulletin board, past one corner, using the rest of the Smart-Fab strip until you reach the middle part of the next side of the bulletin board. Staple down the end of the strip.

Step 5

5. Take one of the pieces of Smart-Fab that you chose to use for the “twisted rope” part of the frame ( we are using Grass Green), and staple it on top of, and as close as possible to the “ruffled” strip, while lightly twisting it.

Step 6

6. Take the other colored strip that you chose for the “twisted rope” ( we are using Orange) and repeat the same procedure as #5 on top of the previous strip of “ twisted rope”. When you are finished you will have two “twisted ropes” of different colors complementing your ‘ruffled’ strip of Smart-Fab.

big--step-7

7. Repeat procedures 1-6 to complete the opposite side of your bulletin board. Of course you can use this method of decoration to totally frame your bulletin board.

Step 8

8. Use the staple gun to attach the “Decorative Flowers” around the frame -- but remember to leave some empty space for announcements!

Step 9

9. Use the staple gun, thumb tacks, or push-pins to put up signs and announcements.
